Accounts and pages on social media circulated posts whose publishers claimed, citing the "Reuters" news agency, a breaking report stating that thousands of Syrian fighters affiliated with the Ministry of Defense were being moved at an accelerated pace to Saudi Arabia, to take part in confronting the "Ansar Allah" Houthi group in Yemen.

The Kashaf team verified the circulating report by searching keywords and reviewing the official website and verified accounts of the "Reuters" news agency, and it turned out that the agency had published no report or text containing the circulating information about moving Syrian fighters to Saudi Arabia to take part in the war in Yemen. In the same context, the Media and Communication Directorate at the Ministry of Defense had previously denied to Kashaf that any Syrian fighters were sent to Yemen.

Why is this claim false?

Fabricated news: The claim relied on fabricating a breaking report and falsely attributing it to the "Reuters" news agency, with no trace of the report on the agency's official platforms, in order to lend the information false credibility and mislead public opinion.
