Accounts and pages on social media circulated a report claiming that the blast heard around the Al-Kiswah area on the Daraa road was caused by a strike carried out by an Israeli drone.

The Kashaf team verified the circulating report by searching keywords across open sources and reviewing what the "Syrian Al-Ikhbariya channel" reported, and found that the sound of the explosion heard in the capital Damascus and its countryside came from the competent authorities detonating war remnants in the "Al-Barda" area, and has no connection to any Israeli targeting or shelling.
Why is this claim false?
A real event attributed to a different cause: Using the sounds of a war-remnants detonation and claiming they resulted from a drone strike gives a sound heard by residents of Damascus and its countryside a security context that did not occur, and suggests a military escalation around the capital that has no basis.
