Pages and accounts on social media circulated images of a number of school textbooks issued by the Syrian Ministry of Education this year, showing edits to the textual and visual content.

The edits in particular included removing lessons on citizenship, political life and local administration, in addition to removing images of women and children, modifying other images, and removing artworks and sculptures.
Following up on the matter, the Kashaf team carried out a comparison between the circulating copies of the textbooks and their earlier versions, and found edits matching what had been circulated.
