Pages and accounts on social media circulated a report claiming the spread of security chaos in the areas controlled by "al-Joulani", and speaking of violent clashes and street fighting in the town of Rankous in the Damascus countryside.
The Kashaf team checked the claim by reviewing official and open sources, and it emerged that the events in Rankous stem from a security operation targeting a cell belonging to ISIS, according to the Syrian Ikhbariya channel citing a security source, which referred to dead and wounded among the internal security forces during the operation.
