Accounts and pages on social media circulated a video clip, whose publishers claimed it documents the outbreak of violent clashes in the centre of the capital Damascus and the targeting of security centres and posts.

The Kashaf team verified the circulating clip to establish its reality by breaking it into still frames and running a reverse search, and it became clear that the claim is misleading and that the clip was used outside its spatial and temporal context.
The results showed that the video is old and had previously been published on "YouTube" on 28/05/2013 as documenting clashes and shelling in the neighbourhoods of the city of Bosra al-Sham, and that the scene has no connection to the capital Damascus or current events.
Why is this claim misleading?
Out of temporal and geographic context: A video clip published in 2013 documenting events in the city of Bosra al-Sham was recycled, then its context was changed to claim that violent clashes and attacks on security posts took place in the centre of the capital Damascus, which makes the report misleading.
