Accounts on social media platforms circulated a report whose publishers claimed it was issued by the Hasakah Media Directorate and carried the logo of Al-Hadath TV, stating that the Internal Security Forces were preparing to carry out a security operation in the southern neighborhoods of the city of Al-Hasakah to pursue outlaws and the remnants of the former regime.
The Kashaf team reviewed the claim through keyword searches and a review of the official channels of the Hasakah Media Directorate, as well as a review of Al-Hadath TV, and found no trace of the circulating report in those sources, indicating that it is not supported by anything in the official sources.
Why Is the Report False?
Impersonation of an official body: the claim relied on attributing the report to an official body and to a well-known news channel without either having issued it, in order to suggest an official credibility that would lead recipients to believe and share its content.
