Our Editorial Principles
1. Impartiality and Fairness
We apply one consistent standard to all claims, regardless of their source.
2. Accuracy and Verifiability
No conclusion is reached without evidence that can be independently examined. Any information that cannot be verified is clearly stated as such.
3. Source Transparency
We prioritize primary sources and clearly explain the limitations of secondary sources when they are used.
4. Methodological Transparency
We explain why a claim was selected, how it was verified, and which tools or methods were used in the process.
5. Independence and Conflict of Interest
Editorial decisions are separated from any funding considerations or partnerships. Any potential conflict of interest is disclosed transparently.
6. Open Corrections
We are committed to correcting errors clearly and in a way that allows the public to review and understand the correction.
7. Respect for Intellectual Property
We comply with copyright laws, fair use standards, and licensing requirements, and we always provide proper attribution.
Claim Selection Policy
Kashaf selects materials for review based on the following criteria:
- Public reach and circulation
- Public significance
- Potential impact or harm
- Verifiability
- Balanced coverage
Sources Policy
- Secondary media reports are not considered “final evidence” on their own.
- Whenever possible, we return to the original source (official statement, document, recording, database, or digital evidence).
- When a secondary source is used, we clarify why it was necessary and explain its limitations.
Image and Media Usage Policy
- We select clear and relevant images and properly label them as:
- Illustrative
- Archival
- Screenshot
- From the original source
- We respect copyright laws and provide source attribution and license information when available.
- We avoid using disturbing images unless there is a clear editorial necessity, and we provide appropriate warnings when such content is used.
Artificial Intelligence Usage Policy
The Kashaf platform uses artificial intelligence tools as supportive instruments for monitoring, analysis, and technical verification. AI is not relied upon as a source of truth or as a substitute for human editorial review.
We are committed to clearly disclosing to our audience any visual materials that have been generated or modified using AI tools. Such materials will be visibly labeled with tags such as:
- (AI-generated)
- (AI-modified)
Kashaf does not produce or publish any AI-generated content that could mislead audiences into believing it is original evidence of an event, statement, or document.
All content undergoes final human review before publication. We also document our workflow steps to ensure transparency about what was done and how it was done.
