Accounts on social media circulated an image attributed to a professor at the Agricultural Technical Institute of Damascus University, with those sharing it claiming that it documents him in a pose that violates public decency together with his female assistant.
The Kashaf team examined the circulating image technically and visually to determine its accuracy, and found clear structural defects that reveal it was digitally fabricated. The scenes contained distortions and a lack of clarity in the area where the two faces meet, showing an unnatural blending of features, as well as a deformation in the appearance of the fingers. Furthermore, the team observed the absence of the third star from the Syrian flag detected on the right of the image, and that the shield or plaque on the left appeared completely empty of any details or legible writing despite the clarity of the rest of the background elements. The search in open sources also showed the spread of other images of the same people bearing the same signs of digital manipulation.
Why is this claim misleading?
Digital fabrication: The image contains multiple technical indicators confirming that it was edited or artificially generated, which strips it of all credibility and proves the falsity of the scene attributed to the people mentioned in the claim.
