Following up on the report and reviewing official and open sources, it emerged that the Fourth Criminal Court in Damascus issued a death sentence in presence against Wassim al-Assad on 18/08/2026, with the sentence open to appeal before the Court of Cassation within 30 days.
A review of media coverage of the case recorded no credible account indicating that the death sentence against him had been carried out.
