Pages on social media circulated a video of President Ahmed al-Sharaa, claiming that it is recent and contains a speech addressed to the Syrian people.
The Kashaf team checked the claim through a digital trace that included splitting the video into still frames and running a reverse search on them. The results showed that the video dates back to a speech delivered by President Ahmed al-Sharaa on January 30, 2025, after he assumed the presidency of the transitional period.
