Pages on social media circulated a photo claimed to be recent, documenting the arrival of President Ahmed al-Sharaa in New York at the head of an official delegation to take part in the work of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad al-Shaibani, Minister of Emergencies and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh, and a number of officials.

The Kashaf team verified the claim through a reverse image search and by tracing the photo's original source, and found that it had been published on the account of Minister of Emergencies and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh on 27 September 2025, a year before its current circulation, which refutes its attribution to the current visit.

Why is this claim misleading?
Out of temporal context: A photo dating back to 2025 was reused as if it documented a current event.
