Pages and accounts on social media circulated a video clip, with its publishers claiming that it documents the arrival of military reinforcements and special mission vehicles in the city of Al-Sanamayn in Daraa governorate, following armed clashes with wanted men.
The fact-checking team traced the circulating clip by breaking it down into still frames and carrying out a reverse image search, and it became clear that the video is old and was used outside its temporal context, and has no connection to any current events. The results showed that the clip originally dates back to earlier security tensions witnessed by the city of Al-Sanamayn on 5 March 2025.
