Pages on social media published a report claiming that pharmacist Ibrahim Turkawi, owner of the Pharma pharmacy at the Iskan roundabout in Homs, was killed with 3 bullets, one of them to the head, by personnel affiliated with the Syrian state.

The circulating post about the pharmacist's killing and the security clarification

The fact-checking team followed up on the report and contacted a responsible source in the Internal Security Command in Hama, who confirmed that the killer, who turned himself in to the security authorities, had worked with the victim, and stated after handing himself over to the security forces that he committed his crime because the victim had hacked his phone, extracted photographs from it and blackmailed him with them.

Why is this claim misleading?

False connection: The killing was attributed to personnel affiliated with the Syrian state, while it emerges that the killer was close to the pharmacist and confessed to his crime, and that state-affiliated personnel had no connection to it.
