Lebanese authorities handed over 128 Syrian convicts to the competent Syrian security agencies on Wednesday, in the second organized transfer between Beirut and Damascus under the judicial cooperation agreement signed by the two countries.
The batch continues a process that began last March, when Lebanon handed over 132 Syrian convicts in the first organized transfer, following the signing of the agreement in February 2026, which was approved by the cabinet headed by President Joseph Aoun and provides for transferring convicts to their country of nationality to serve out their sentences.
