The Kashaf team verified the claim by contacting a source in the security command in Homs governorate, who denied the accuracy of the circulated information. The source explained that Mohammad Ramez al-Omar is an officer in the Ministry of Interior with the rank of major and holds the post of deputy director of the Al-Rastan security directorate, noting that his name appeared in a recording published by the Ministry of Interior two days earlier, while he was speaking about the details of a cell seized in Al-Rastan, which was found in possession of fabricated clips and in contact with figures including Waheed Yazbek, with the aim of spreading rumours and stirring strife.

Why is this claim misleading?

Distortion of content: The claim presented an Interior Ministry officer with the rank of major, who serves as deputy director of the Al-Rastan security directorate, as someone seizing the homes of the residents of Jabourin village, an account that does not match the available data according to a source in the security command in Homs governorate.
