Pages and accounts on social media circulated a video showing media figure Hadi al-Abdullah talking about members affiliated with Hezbollah infiltrating Syrian territory, abducting and killing members of the Syrian army, with the posters claiming these events are fabricated as pretexts to enter Lebanon.
The Kashaf team verified the circulating clip by cutting it into still frames and running reverse image searches, and the results showed that the clip is old, dating to earlier events published on 17 March 2025.
Why is this claim misleading?
Reposting an old video in a different context: A clip from 2025 was recirculated and tied to current events to suggest a recent infiltration by Hezbollah members, aiming to manufacture pretexts for entering Lebanon.
