Accounts and pages on social media circulated a video, with its publishers claiming it recently documents a person assaulting a traffic police officer while he was directing traffic in the city of al-Dana in the Idlib countryside.
Kashaf’s team examined the circulating clip and broke it down into still frames for a reverse-image search to determine when it was first posted. The claim turned out to be misleading: the clip is old and was used entirely outside its temporal context. The results revealed that the video had previously been posted and circulated on social media on February 26, 2026, and it is not connected to any recent assault in the area in question.
