Accounts on social media circulated a screenshot showing a comment offensive to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and those who shared it claimed that the account holder was a student at the Faculty of Human Medicine at Aleppo University and a resident of the city.
Kashaf platform’s team contacted a security source in the Internal Security Command in Aleppo Governorate to verify the accuracy of the circulating information, and the source confirmed that field and technical investigations had established that the account in question is fake, and that the name being circulated does not exist in the civil or security records of the governorate. In the same context, Ahmad al-Ashqar, director of the media office at the Ministry of Higher Education, stated that there is no student registered at Aleppo University at all bearing the name mentioned in the claim.
Why is this claim misleading?
A fake account and a fabricated name: Official follow-up showed that the circulating image belongs to a fabricated personal profile that does not represent a real person on the ground, and that the name attributed to it is not listed in the civil registry or in the official university records.
