Pages on social media circulated a video whose publishers claimed it was recent and showed most members of Division 40 withdrawing from the assembly and sorting site in the Damascus countryside and returning to Daraa, amid disagreements over the future of the division and its restructuring.
The Kashaf team verified the video through digital tracing that included splitting it into still frames, running a reverse search on them, and reviewing the content's timeline archive. It found that the video dates back to 08/03/2025 and documents events on the Syrian coast, not a recent withdrawal from Daraa. Examination of the footage also showed vehicles belonging to General Security, some bearing logos linked to the Salvation Government, consistent with the context of the events the video documents.
The Kashaf team had previously refuted the claim through its correspondent, who confirmed that no withdrawal of Ministry of Defense forces from Daraa Governorate had been observed.
