The "Jethro Press" platform published a video report containing a response to the "children of As-Suwayda" video and a rejection of its use as a tool for gloating and incitement. The report included accusations against several Syrian parties of selling girls in the camps of northern Syria and inciting "jihad al-nikah", among other things, citing as evidence an earlier video of Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa in which he says "get Abu Suleiman one ready for us".

The circulating Jethro Press report

The Kashaf team followed up on the video of President al-Sharaa and found that it had also been published earlier with the claim that he was asking for a female captive. The team checked the video in detail and found that it was clipped from another video, in which the president was referring to an armored vehicle, not a captive. The original video showed President al-Sharaa getting into one of the armored vehicles after he spoke at the time.

Why is this claim misleading?

Truncation and distortion: Part of an earlier video of President al-Sharaa was clipped and used in the "Jethro Press" report out of its actual context, as the president was referring to an armored vehicle, not a captive.
