Pages on social media circulated posts claiming that the program Ala Al-Tawla, broadcast by the Syrian news channel, had been taken off the air, describing this as a black day in the history of Syrian media.

The fact-checking team verified the claim by reviewing the statements about presenter Moaz Muharib's departure from the channel, in which he explained that his departure did not mean the program had been stopped. The team also contacted the producer of Ala Al-Tawla, Ahmad Hamada, who denied that the program had been stopped and confirmed that it continues with the same issues and the same ceiling of freedoms.

Why is this claim misleading?

Distortion of content: The claim relied on turning a limited event, a change of the program's presenter, into a report of its complete cancellation, which does not match the reality of the change that took place.
