Accounts and pages on social media circulated a video, whose publishers claimed it documents a warning by the "al-Hijri militia" that the set deadline was about to expire before heading to the capital Damascus.

Following up on the circulating claim, the Kashaf team took a still frame from the video and ran a reverse search using "Google Lens" to verify it. It emerged that the video is taken out of its original context and does not document any new event. The results showed that the clip dates back to a protest stand held by people displaced from the northern and western countryside to demand the recovery of their villages, and that the video had been published earlier in June 2026, with no connection to the claims attached to it.
Why is this claim misleading?
Republishing an old video in a different context: The claim relied on a clip published in June 2026 documenting a protest stand by displaced people demanding to return to their villages, and its context was changed to suggest that it shows a warning by the "al-Hijri militia" about heading to Damascus.
