Pages on social media circulated a report claiming that the young man Nader Boulos Tannous, a member of the Christian community, was killed in the Karm al-Louz neighbourhood of the city of Homs after being shot directly in the head by General Security personnel, at the same time as the killing of the pharmacist Ibrahim Turkawi in Hama.

Following up on the report, and reviewing official sources and the available information on the incident, the Kashaf team found that the security authorities had opened an investigation into the killing of Tannous and arrested a suspect within less than 48 hours of the crime, who confessed during questioning to having committed it against the background of earlier disputes with the victim dating back to 2012.
Why is this news misleading?
False context: the claim was based on a real incident, but presented inaccurate information about the party responsible for committing the crime.
