Pages and accounts on social media circulated a video clip whose publishers claimed it documents "Syrians welcoming the Israeli army in central Syria".
Kashaf followed up on the claim and carried out digital tracing of the clip, including splitting it into still frames and running a reverse search on them, alongside tracing the original version of the clip. The results showed that the video was filmed in Palestine, in the city of Qabatiya, and has no connection to Syria or to the event attributed to it.
Why is the report misleading?
