Pages and accounts on social media circulated a video clip whose publishers claimed it documents training by the Syrian army.
The Kashaf team followed up on the circulated claim and split the video into still frames to run a reverse search on them. It emerged that the clip is old and taken out of its temporal and geographic context, with no connection to the Syrian army: the results showed the video had previously been published on 02/02/2010, and platforms and websites circulated it at the time as having been filmed in Afghanistan.
Why is the report misleading?
