Pages and accounts on social media circulated a video claiming it was recent, showing a message from the Arab tribes to Syrians of the Kurdish component calling for peace, coexistence, and building a shared future based on cooperation and unity.

The fact-checking team traced the clip by breaking it into still frames and running reverse image searches with Google Lens, searching for older copies across search engines and social platforms, and comparing the scenes with previously published material and the contexts in which it spread. The tracking showed the clip is old, dating to 18 January 2026, and documents the Al-Bou Shaaban tribe declaring general mobilization against the SDF, alongside a message to Syrians of the Kurdish component affirming they are brothers and that their stance targets the SDF only, which shows the original clip's meaning differs from the context in which it was recirculated.
Why is this claim misleading?
Out of temporal context: The claim relied on an old clip from the start of the year, re-presented as a recent message detached from its original context tied to the declaration of general mobilization against the SDF, suggesting a new development in the relationship between the two components that did not occur.
