Accounts on social media circulated a statement attributed to Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, saying that Israel had sent several mediators with a message asking Syria to accept sitting at the negotiating table and to discuss the demands and conditions of the Syrian government in order to reach a final, comprehensive peace formula.

Kashaf followed up on the claim and carried out digital tracing that included keyword searches, along with reviewing the official accounts and platforms of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and reputable local and international news sources, and during verification found no reliable source, recording or official statement proving the validity of the circulating statement. Digital footprint tracing also showed that the claim originated from the Al-Risala Al-Arabiya page, known for publishing misleading statements attributed to Syrian government figures, before being circulated through other accounts.
