Pages and accounts on social media circulated a video with a claim linking it to the outbreak of armed clashes between tribes and the "SDF" militia in rural Hasakah.
Digital tracing of the clip — breaking it into still frames and running reverse searches using Google Lens — established that the video is old and was published on 3 April 2025 under a caption documenting a helicopter strike on "Tal al-Jumu" in rural Daraa. Relatedly, the Internal Security command in Hasakah governorate issued an official statement denying the circulating reports of security alerts or attacks on checkpoints in the governorate, stressing the need to draw information from official sources.
