The truth about the claimed kidnapping of Ghazal al-Hajj from the Salamiyah market

Pages and accounts across social media platforms circulated a report claiming that a young woman named Ghazal al-Hajj had been kidnapped from inside the market of Salamiyah, in the Hama countryside.

Kashaf followed the circulating claim and investigated the incident, and found that Ghazal al-Hajj appeared in a video recording in which she explained that she had left her family home voluntarily and of her own free will, fleeing attempts to force her to marry her cousin. She confirmed that she was safe and staying with another family, which refutes the circulating reports that she had been abducted.

Why is this claim misleading?

Incorrect context: A report was fabricated claiming that Ghazal al-Hajj was kidnapped from the Salamiyah market in rural Hama, when in fact she left her family home voluntarily to escape attempts to force her into marriage with her cousin.
