Pages and accounts on social media circulated a video alleged to document Israeli soldiers assaulting Syrian women in Daraa province in southern Syria.

The Kashaf team carried out a digital analysis of the clip that included breaking it into still frames and running a reverse search on them, along with a careful visual analysis of the location landmarks, and found that the clip does not belong to Daraa province. Instead, it documents an assault by the Israeli occupation forces on Palestinians, including elderly people, in the Masafer Yatta area in the southern West Bank, in the context of attempts to displace residents from their land, dated 09/07/2026, and it is not linked to any events that took place in Syria.
Why is this claim misleading?
Out of its geographic context: A clip documenting assaults by the Israeli occupation forces on Palestinians in the West Bank was taken and re-circulated in a different geographic context as an assault on Syrian women in Daraa province.
