Pages and accounts on social media circulated a report claiming an arrest campaign was being carried out in the city of Hama targeting people who had previously made settlements with the Syrian army, alleging there were around 90,000 wanted people in the city.

The circulating report was traced and the information in it verified through direct contact with the relevant authorities, where an official source at the Hama Media Directorate denied these reports, confirming there was no arrest campaign targeting settlement holders in the city.

Why is this claim misleading?

A lack of credible sources: The claim relied on rumors and unconfirmed information circulated widely across social media platforms without providing any concrete evidence to prove its accuracy.
